Abstract
⺠We map sub-oval proton aurora spots observed with IMAGE onto the equatorial plane. ⺠We model the plasmapause location on the basis of the Lemaire's theory. ⺠Most of the proton aurora spots are mapped into the vicinity of plasmapause.
