Abstract
⺠We demonstrate the existence of the plasma ring surrounding the Earth. ⺠We obtain the distribution of plasma pressure in the ring using THEMIS data. ⺠We analyze the distribution and structure of transverse currents in the ring. ⺠We model the contribution of the symmetric part of the ring current to Dst.
