Abstract
► We examine the influence of planetary attraction on the solar tachocline. ► Convective acceleration is three orders of ten larger than planetary acceleration. ► A similar result applies to inertial, centrifugal, buoyancy and Coriolis forces. ► Hence, planetary influence on solar variability can be neglected.
