Abstract
⺠We examine the influence of planetary attraction on the solar tachocline. ⺠Convective acceleration is three orders of ten larger than planetary acceleration. ⺠A similar result applies to inertial, centrifugal, buoyancy and Coriolis forces. ⺠Hence, planetary influence on solar variability can be neglected.
