Abstract
⺠The atmospheres of brown dwarfs and giant gas planets are considered. ⺠Dust cloud formation and their electrostatic charging are modelled. ⺠Charging by dust-dust collisions and by cosmic rays is investigates. ⺠We discuss if mineral clouds can produce lightning. ⺠We estimate the break-down field and the needed charges for extrasolar atmospheres.
