Abstract
The review presents the latest experimental data on the total reaction cross sections and angular distributions of differential cross sections for elastic scattering of light weakly bound lithium nuclei (6-9,11Li). The results of their joint analysis using a wide range of models: from simple models of strong absorption (Kox parametrization) to modern theoretical approaches (macroscopic optical model, semi microscopic and microscopic double folding models) are presented. Specific features of experimental excitation functions of the total reaction cross sections and dominant interaction mechanisms at near-barrier energies are discussed. Proposals for new experiments on the interaction of weakly bound lithium isotopes are presented. In addition, the data on neutron instability of 10Li nucleus are considered. We carried out predictive calculations of the total reaction cross section values for the (11Li + 28Si) reaction at energies from the Coulomb barrier within the framework of a semi-microscopic folding model. This is necessary for describing the trend in behavior of the total reaction cross section excitation functions at near-barrier energies: for the description of the recently experimentally discovered quite large values of the total reaction cross sections.
