Abstract
Amorphous alloys of (Fe1âxCox)83B17 (x=22, 25.3, 28.4) in the vicinity of 25 at% of Co were prepared by melt spun technique. The samples were annealed at different temperatures and the changes in structural and magnetic properties have been studied. Phase stabilization and magnetic properties of amorphous alloys were studies using X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The result shows anomalies in structure and in magnetic properties in the studied samples. Annealing at 475 °C brings about the formation of complete and stable crystalline structure. At this stage multiple crystalline phases have been observed. Mössbauer spectroscopy also revealed that two phases of Fe3B were formed along with stable Fe3Co phase.
