Abstract
In this work, a simple two-step ball-milling method has been applied to prepare the flake-like FeAl mixture. The mixing ball-milling time is considered to significantly influence the magnetic properties. With the rising of the mixing ball-milling time, the saturation magnetization values decreased first and then increased after reaching to the lowest Ms value. On the other hand, the mixing ball-milling process also created a remarkably effect on the microwave absorbing and infrared emission properties. It is surprisingly to find that the mixture prepared by 30 min of mixing ball-milling presented the best radar-infrared compatible properties, the minimum reflection loss is about −13.1 dB and the lowest infrared emission is only around 0.1.
