Abstract
The magnetic and magnetocaloric properties were investigated in Fe80âxMnxP10B7C3 (x=13, 14, 15, 16, 18) metallic glasses. Tunable Curie temperature and magnetic entropy change are executed by controlling the content of Mn. The average magnetic moment per (Fe+Mn) atom correlates with the magnetic entropy change âSM linearly, which can interpret the decreasing of âSM with increasing Mn. Fe65Mn15P10B7C3 alloy exhibits the highest refrigeration capacity of 147.09Â JÂ kgâ1 and moderate peak magnetic entropy of 1.12Â JÂ kgâ1Â Kâ1 under maximum applied field of 2Â T. This family of low-cost Fe-based alloys provides a candidate used as near room-temperature magnetic refrigerant.
