Abstract

In this work, analysis has been carried out to study the entropy generation rate in the flow and heat transfer of hydromagnetic third grade fluid between horizontal parallel plates saturated with porous materials. The flow is induced by a constant pressure gradient applied in the flow direction and also influenced by a uniform magnetic field that is applied across the flow channel. The equations governing the fluid flow are modeled, non-dimensionalized and solved analytically using regular perturbation method. The effect of various flow parameters on the fluid flow is presented graphically and discussed.
