Abstract
⺠Theoretical model was developed and applied to cylindrical MgB2 coils. ⺠Influence of winding geometry on basic parameters of coils was studied. ⺠Critical current, magnetic field and stored energy of coils were calculated. ⺠Winding geometry optimization was performed with respect to overall wire length. ⺠Wire length can be considered as a key factor determining the cost of HTS magnet.
