Abstract
⺠Magnetic field and the gradient decide magnetic forces acting on particles in High Gradient Magnetic Separation (HGMS). ⺠We calculated the magnetic field and the gradient by using Finite Element Method (FEM). ⺠Firstly, we calculated them through 2 dimensional axis-symmetric analysis. ⺠Furthermore, we calculated the magnetic field distribution through 3 dimensional analysis. ⺠We could find out how much portion of magnetic force originates from the magnetic field and the gradient.
