Abstract
⺠We model vortices driven at varied angles on quasiperiodic and periodic substrates. ⺠Locking steps occur for orientationally ordered substrates. ⺠Translational ordering of the substrate is not required to produce locking steps. ⺠Order-disorder transitions of the vortex lattice occur at the edges of the steps.
