Abstract
► We model vortices driven at varied angles on quasiperiodic and periodic substrates. ► Locking steps occur for orientationally ordered substrates. ► Translational ordering of the substrate is not required to produce locking steps. ► Order-disorder transitions of the vortex lattice occur at the edges of the steps.
