Abstract

This study focuses on the delamination issues of laminated glass beams and analyzes the behavior of delaminated glass beams subjected to different boundary conditions. Delamination of laminated glass is defined as separation of polyvinyl butyral interlayer from one or both of glass sheets. It is one of the most important failure modes of glass beams. The object of this study is to develop a mathematical model for laminated glass beams with initial delamination. Therefore, three nonlinear coupled partial differential equations representing the true behavior of delaminated glass beams are obtained. Results of the developed model are compared with the ones obtained from the developed finite element model and also the experiment studies. These results matched well with those of experiments and finite element methods.
