Abstract
A neutron resonance spin flip device is presented which efficiently induces spin flips of neutrons from a cold beam in static fields down to approximately 100 μT. Detailed performance measurements show typical characteristics of the related pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance technique. The obtained results are in excellent quantitative agreement with model calculations which use a formalism based on time-evolution operators.
