Abstract
A set-up has been developed for the accurate and temperature-dependent measurement of intrinsic scintillation pulse shapes upon excitation with 100Â ps x-ray pulses. Intrinsic pulse shapes were measured for LaBr3:(5-30%)Ce, LaBr3:5%Ce, Sr, CeBr3, LaCl3:10%Ce, LYSO:Ce, LYSO:Ce, 20Â ppm Ca, LSO:Ce, 0.2%Ca, NaI:Tl, GSO:Ce, LuAG:Pr, YAP:Ce, and YAG:Ce in the temperature range between 80Â K and 400Â K. The scintillation rise and decay time constants as well as the 10-90% rise time were derived from the measured data.
