Abstract
⺠MCNP calculation provided the moderator shapes that lead to 30% reduced mass. ⺠The optimal placement of the 3He tubes in the existing moderator improved the instrument frontal sensitivity by 18%. ⺠The results showed a 17% improvement in detection limit and maintaining a 26% mass reduction.
