Abstract
One of the latest steps in polymer nano-technology is polymer/clay/glass fiber composites because of the synergistic effects of both reinforcing particles. Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) - sepiolite nanocomposites have been developed, and glass fiber has been added to this system in order to study a synergistic behavior between both reinforcing particles. Properties such as Young modulus, impact strength and heat deflection temperature have been measured to characterize the nanocomposites. Morphology has been studied by means of optical and electron microscopy.
