Abstract
Using a data sample of 448.1Ã106Ï(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first observation of the electromagnetic Dalitz decay Ï(3686)âηâ²e+eâ, with significances of 7.0Ï and 6.3Ï when reconstructing the ηⲠmeson via its decay modes ηâ²âγÏ+Ïâ and ηâ²âÏ+Ïâη (ηâγγ), respectively. The weighted average branching fraction is determined to be B(Ï(3686)âηâ²e+eâ)=(1.90±0.25±0.11)Ã10â6, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
