Abstract
This study presents the effects of impact energy, impactor mass and impact velocity on the maximum contact force, maximum deflection, contact time, absorbed energy, and overall damage area of glass/epoxy laminated composites, experimentally and numerically. The stacking sequence of the composite plates was chosen as [0°/30°/60°/90°]S. The impact event was simulated and analyzed by using 3DIMPACT finite element code. The overall delamination area obtained from experimental study and numerical analyses were also examined. It is seen that the numerical results are in good agreement with experimental results.
