Abstract
Bond of external fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement to the concrete substrate is a critical problem influencing the effectiveness of the technique of retrofitting and repairing existing structures with non-metallic reinforcement. In this work, three types of bond test were performed to address some of the factors expected to affect the interface behaviour. In particular, the type of FRP reinforcement, the mechanical properties of concrete, the bonded length, the surface finishing as well as the type of bond test were considered as variable parameters. Experimental results are presented and discussed, taking also into account the available literature on this topic.
