Abstract
Multiaxial stitch bonded and biaxial weft knitted textiles show high potential for reinforcement in wood construction. These technologies enable the production of two and three dimensional pre-forms. The necessary steps for the enhancement of load bearing capacity of timber joints are explained for the reinforcement of dowel type fasteners.
