Abstract
⺠We take the family of 2nd order rogue wave rational solutions of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation. ⺠We find that these solutions produce a formation consisting of 3 separate first order rogue waves. ⺠The components of the triplet are equidistant from each other on a circle, i.e. they form an equilateral triangle. ⺠As the parameters change, the radius of the circle changes, as does the orientation of the triangle.
