Abstract
Nanocrystalline BaSO4:Dy and BaSO4:Tb were prepared by the coprecipitation method. The materials were characterized with X-ray diffractometry, UV-visible spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The glow curves of the BaSO4:Dy and BaSO4:Tb nanophosphors feature main peaks at 505Â K and 480Â K, respectively. The responses to the 60Co dose are linear in the range 0.1-1Â kGy for BaSO4:Dy and in the range 0.1-7Â kGy for BaSO4:Tb. The energy dependences of the responses were also studied.
