Abstract
This article presents advancements in the experimental investigation and mathematical modelling of porous materials. Examples of measured and simulated material behavior of cellular materials are shown. The development of a testing machine for impact-velocities up to 5 m/s, a shear testing device and a force-measurement plate for high impact velocities, as well as the programming of an optical deformation analysis are described. Finally, the advances mentioned above are completed by an improved calibration approach for modelling cellular materials.
