Abstract
Outcome may be compromised if pulmonary radiotherapy is omitted in children with Wilms' tumor with pulmonary metastases. There was a significant effect on event-free survival; the risk of an event, particularly lung recurrence, was increased nearly threefold. Strategies for selection of children for avoidance of pulmonary irradiation need to be developed in a controlled fashion.
