Abstract
Photoluminescence, scintillation, optically-stimulated luminescence (OSL), and thermally-stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties of Ce 0.5% and Eu 0.5% doped LiSrAlF6 crystals fabricated by Tokuyama Corp. were investigated. In photoluminescence (PL) and scintillation induced by X-rays, emission wavelengths of Ce- and Eu-doped LiAlSrF6 were 320 and 370 nm due to the 5d-4f transitions, respectively. The luminescence decay times of Ce- and Eu-doped samples were 38 ns and 1.5 μs in PL and 140 ns and 1.5 μs in scintillation, respectively. OSL was observed effectively under 405 nm stimulation in the Ce-doped sample and 470 nm stimulation in the Eu-doped sample. TSL of Ce- and Eu-doped LiCaAlF6 exhibited good linear responses from 1 to 1000 mGy and 0.1-500 mGy, respectively.
