Abstract
In paper [3] it was developed a linear theory of hard-skin plates, i.e. sandwich plates the outer layers of which are much harder than the core layer. It was shown that the leading approximation involves the transverse shear, and, a closed system of governing equations was derived. In this paper the results of [3] are extended to nonlinear theory of hard-skin plates and shells.
