Abstract
The propagation of harmonic plane waves in media described by the two-temperature theory of thermoelasticity (2TT) is investigated. Exact dispersion relation solutions are determined and several characterizations of the wave field are examined. High- and low-frequency results are given and special/limiting cases are also noted and discussed. In addition, critical values of the physical parameters are determined, as well as their impact on the wave fields, and the dispersion characteristics of such media are established.
