Abstract
⺠PSAP was identified as an apoptotic protein and associated with Alzheimer presenilin. ⺠First, we found that induces apoptosis dependent on Smac and Apaf-1; ⺠Second, BAx, tBid, and Bak are not required for PSAP-induced cytochrome c release; ⺠Third, PSAP-induced apoptosis was not protected by Bcl-2 protein. ⺠PSAP opens a new avenue to study the mechanism of mitochondria-mediated apoptosis.
