Abstract
► Quantification of albumin is decreased in patients with diabetic nephropathy. ► Decreased albumin detection reduces albumin measurements in diabetic nephropathy. ► Decreased albumin detection is related to systemic inflammation and renal function. ► Oxidized albumin activates neutrophils, thus probably increasing oxidative stress.
