Abstract
⺠We propose that endothelial KCa3.1 is dysfunctional in the preeclamptic vasculature. ⺠NADPH oxidase 2 is involved in the downregulation of KCa3.1 in endothelial cells. ⺠NADPH oxidase 2-induced superoxide inhibits endothelial KCa3.1 in preeclampsia. ⺠KCa3.1 dysfunction explains the vasculopathy in preeclampsia.
