Abstract
⺠DPI and DTI potently block growth and reactive oxygen species production in human colon cancer cells. ⺠Growth inhibition is associated with a G1 cell cycle block and upregulation of p27. ⺠Iodonium analogs also downregulate Nox1 mRNA expression in colon cancer cells. ⺠Plasma concentrations of DPI and DTI in vivo are correlated with growth arrest. ⺠Both DPI and DTI are active therapeutic agents in colon cancer xenografts.
