Abstract
- Cardiac failure could be initially involved in transthyretin (TTR)-familial amyloid polyneuropathy (FAP) with Glu61Lys mutation.
- Okayama in Japan may be one of an endemic focus of TTR Glu61Lys variant.
- Constructive genetic examination is required in order to distinguish late onset FAP from senile systemic amyloidosis.
