Abstract
⺠Vasoconstriction by endothelin-1 declined with age in rat retinal arterioles. ⺠Age did not affect IOP, blood glucose levels or endothelin receptor expression. ⺠Age did not affect vasoconstriction by depolarization or Ca2+ release by caffeine. ⺠Reduced responsiveness mediated by smooth muscle endothelin A receptors in males. ⺠Reduced responsiveness mediated by endothelin B receptors on endothelium in females.
