Abstract
► We quantified age-dependent miRNA expression in the brain of two N. furzeri strains with different life-spans. ► Age-regulated miRNAs have interactions with MYC and/or with TP53. ► Three of the regulated miRNAs were previously shown to contribute to age-dependent gene regulation in the human cerebral cortex. ► N. furzeri age-dependent miRNA expression appears to be evolutionarily conserved. ► Short lifespan in GRZ could partially be due to deregulated miRNA expression.
