Abstract
⺠We raise concerns about a previously published study proposing that the C. elegans ELT-3 GATA factor controls intestinally expressed aging-associated genes. ⺠We find that ELT-3 is not significantly expressed in the adult C. elegans intestine. ⺠Contrary to the previously published study, we find that an elt-3 loss-of-function mutation (deletion of the zinc finger DNA binding domain) does not revert the extended lifespan of a daf-2(e1370) mutation.
