Abstract
⺠Osteopenia and sarcopenia are age-related entities that may have common mechanisms. ⺠Lamin A/C has been associated with the regulation of stem cell differentiation. ⺠Mice lacking lamin A/C show fat infiltration in muscle and bone. ⺠Both muscle and bone of lamin A/C knockout mice show a predominant expression of adipogenic factors. ⺠Lamin A/C is a potential factor involved in the pathogenesis of sarco and osteopenia in ageing.
