Abstract
⺠Maternal protein restriction leads to transgenerational changes in the pancreas. ⺠It delays islet maturation and reduces the number of islets in F1. ⺠It reduces beta cell mass and causes hypoinsulinemia in F1-F3 offspring. ⺠Offspring have lower pancreatic islets and altered distribution of alpha/beta cells.
