Abstract

In this study, the effect of adding different loading amounts of furnace carbon black grade to SBR-1712 type synthetic rubber on physical and rheological properties of the resulting compounds is investigated. For this purpose, five types of compounds were prepared with SBR-1712 synthetic rubbers and each furnace black grade N-220, N-326, N-330, N-347, N-550 and N-660 with five loading ratio. Unvulcanized compounds were measured for cure characteristics, and physical properties such as tensile strength, 300 percent modulus, percent+ elongation at break and shore A hardness of vulcanized sheets were tested according to ASTM standard test methods. Neural networks were applied to the properties of SBR-1712 type synthetic rubber compounds study. The test results were analysed with the aim of developing some appropriate for the suitable amount of carbon black grade selection to have the desirable rubber product.
