Abstract

Some parameters of the alloys, such as Smix, Tm, ΔHm, Δd, Δe and ν are calculated by using the weighted averages principle. The correlation coefficients between the related parameters and Rc, Trg and ΔTx are calculated based on the statistics. In particular, the relationships between three related parameters, i.e., Δd, Δe and ν, and Rc are researched, respectively. The results are shown: Smix, Tm and ΔHm all are advantageous of the increase of the glass-forming ability (GFA) of the alloy. ΔTx is better than Trg for describing the GFA of the alloy from the point of statistics view, but two parameters are not suitable for the description of the GFA. The optimum phenomena are found in the relationships between Rc and three parameters, such as Δd, Δe and ν, respectively. Based on the above-mentioned results, in order to enhance the GFA of the alloy, the match among the atomic percentage, Δd, Δe and ν must be harmonious. The optimum composition of the components in the alloy and optimum atomic percentage of additives may be related to the relations related above.
