Abstract
It is fully or partially possible to avoid the influence of the various types of welding defects by construction solutions or additional treatments. This work considers the fatigue of alloy 5083 welds with shot-peened crater hot-cracks.Metallographic research and the results of micro-hardness tests show changes in material structure and mechanical properties in shot-peened layers. The research results show considerable influence of shot-peening increasing the intensity on fatigue strength of welded aluminium alloy with crater hot-cracks.
