Abstract
The afferent arterioles vasoconstriction, which takes place during sepsis, and the intra-renal shunt, which occurs and leads to blood diversion to the medulla from the renal cortex due to the combination of intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and sepsis, seem to explain this finding.
