Abstract
The stability and resilience of the nn-competitor system are analyzed from the viewpoint of physics and dynamics theory. On the basis of the belief that complex oscillations are sometimes beneficial for the functioning of ecosystems, we demonstrate the validity of the sampling and measuring method as regards the stability and resilience of the nonequilibrium attractors. We take the example of the nn-competitor heteroclinic cycle system. By using this method, one can compare two or more ecosystems involving nonequilibrium attractors to estimate which system is more stable; this is useful in biodiversity–stability research.
