Abstract
► This is the first outbreak of Simarouba versicolor intoxication reported in cattle. ► Clinical signs: weakness, tremors, incoordination, reluctance to move, recumbency. ► Main lesions: necrosis of lymphoid tissues and necrotizing enterocolitis. ► The poisoning was reproduced experimentally in bovines. ► Data obtained lead us to conclude that S. versicolor is poisonous to cattle.
