Abstract
⺠We studied abortive properties, the clinical and pathological features of poisoning by Stryphnodendron fissuratum in goats. ⺠The pods of S. fisuratum cause digestive disorders, liver disease and abortion. ⺠Necrosis of epithelial cells of rumen, abomasum and hepatocellular necrosis were the main histopathology findings of this toxicosis. ⺠The poisoning by this plant is similar to those that contain triterpene saponins.
