Abstract
⺠In situ forming implants present an attractive parenteral delivery platform. ⺠They are easy to apply, tissue biocompatible and show sustained release. ⺠They can form via in situ precipitation, crosslinking or solidification. ⺠They are able to protect protein and peptide drugs from degradation. ⺠Combining various gelling mechanisms may further enhance their efficacy.
