Abstract
⺠A quick, cheap and effective way to purify lab-scale chicken antibodies from eggs. ⺠Using pectin, carrageenan and CaCl2 to delipidate and (NH4)2SO4 to precipitate IgY. ⺠We obtained approximately 60 mg of active antibody per egg yolk. ⺠The antibodies were approximately 80% pure and cost a fraction to isolate compared the commercial kits.
