Abstract
⺠Next-generation sequencing technology provides a powerful way to identify molecular drivers of gastric cancer. ⺠Targeted exome sequencing studies in gastric cancer reveal novel driver mutated genes such as ARID1A. ⺠Whole-transcriptome RNA sequencing identifies a critical role of AMPKα2 in the early stages of gastric cancer. ⺠The Cancer Genome Atlas is a highly valuable resource for understanding the molecular basis underlying this disease.
