Abstract
We study the shock wave problem for the Cabannes 14-velocity model of the Boltzmann equation in one space dimension (xx-axis) and obtain a non-trivial explicit solution which asymptotically connects two particular Maxwellian states. We prove that such a solution exists provided that a suitable condition on the differential elastic cross sections hold.
