Abstract
⺠3-OHAA in the presence of copper could cause single stranded nicks in the DNA. ⺠3-OHAA in the presence of metal cofactor copper causes mutagenic effect in TA102. ⺠The presence of liver S9 detoxifies the mutagenic effect of 3-OHAA and copper. ⺠AA in the presence of copper does not cause any mutagenic effect. ⺠Both AA and 3-OHAA do not cause any mutagenic effect by themselves.
